About Me

Wendy Swift is an award-winning author. In May 2022, her manuscript, A DREAM LIFE won The Memoir Prize for Books, awarded by Memoir Magazine. It won as an unpublished manuscript in the category of Transformation of Self. In June 2023, her personal essay, I Lived A Charmed Life was published by HuffPost.   “The Sentencing” earned Honorable Mention from the Connecticut Press Club in 2023. In November 2023, her braided essay, “Interfaith” was published in Yellow Arrow’s Emblazon journal. In December 2023, her essay, What I Learned About Writing From Donkey Kong was posted on Brevity’s blog. Her work appears in Memoir Magazine, Grub Street Literary Magazine, Adelaide Literary Magazine, Barely South Review and Avalon Literary Review. In June 2021, Swift retired from directing the writing center and teaching creative writing at Cheshire Academy, an independent day and boarding school located in Connecticut. She currently reads fiction for the literary magazine, Mud Season Review. Swift lives in Farmington, Connecticut with her husband and hound.
